Splendour

Splendor is a floating sculpture inspired by the ephemeral properties of sunlight. The light that reaches us from the largest celestial body in our galaxy, the sun, is atually white. The warmth of the sunlight we see when we look up at the skies is caused by a natural effect once sunlight hits our atmosphere. This is why the sunlight will seems warmer at dawn or bluer during the sunset. Sunlight is white, compromised of all the colours of the rainbow.
Splendor seeks to illuminate its environment in the same way, by reflecting and combining all the colours of the rainbow and reflecting its environment itself.
Oculus shape and sliced ovals will seemingly float over the audience as the sunlight reflects on its dichroic discs. At night, these celestial body will illuminate in an array of animations, them too splitting their lights into different spectrums.
