Alcazar
Alcazar is an immersive, colour based art-chitecture. The work is a detailed exploration of the filtering of colour, and the mixing of optically perceivable light hues.
Light is made up of wavelengths of light, and each wavelength is a particular colour. The colour we see is a result of which wavelengths are reflected back to our eyes. The visible spectrum showing the wavelengths of each of the component colours.
There are three primary colours in light: red, green and blue. Light in these colours can be added together to make the secondary colours magenta, cyan and yellow.
Alcazal explores the hiding of these colours with the changing light of the day and invites the audience to investigate colour through experience and play.
The work is made up of three modules, in concentric rings, that the audience is invited to travers around and through. As they move through the space they will move through blending and shifting experience of colour and light.
